The New Normal for Climber UK
Last week I brought the UK team together to meet face-to-face for the first time since the pandemic began. After a year of speaking on Microsoft Teams it was great to be together in person and reflect on what we have all achieved.
Like many businesses we’ve been looking at what the ‘New Normal’ will look like for us post-pandemic. One of the first decisions we have made is to move our office out of London to Basingstoke in Hampshire. There are two reasons why I believe this is the right decision for us and our clients.
We have been operating fully remotely throughout the pandemic and have continued to maintain the same high standards. It hasn’t mattered whether our team members live in Portsmouth, Sheffield, or even Sweden!
Over the past year we’ve also been transitioning to a fully-cloud environment, which gives us greater flexibility and means that our team can work from anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection.
Of course, we’re not alone. Many of our clients are also evaluating their locations and ways of working and it’s clear that a hybrid model that combines home working with flexible office arrangements is likely to become the norm.
So why Basingstoke?
It’s just a 47-minute train ride into London Waterloo and also has good road links to the south coast and home counties. This means that we can easily reach clients both in and out of the capital. Our new office is with a service provider that has locations in every major town, city and transport hub worldwide. This gives us the option of meeting clients at any location across the world.
With a flexible office, cloud environment, and dedicated team we are excited about what the future has in store.
